Land of the Free...Home of the Brave!

How grateful we should be to live in a country that gushes with freedom!
Why are we so blessed?
Because of all the brave men and women who have fought and died to provide that freedom.
Our nation's soldiers, their spouses and families have sacrificed so much to create such a beautiful land for us to love.
So be a PROUD AMERICAN!

On May 2, 2000 William J. Clinton proposed the "National Moment of Remembrance" to the President.
The resolution was passed on Dec 2000 and in it, Clinton asks that at 3 p.m. local time,
for all Americans "To voluntarily and informally observe in their own
way a Moment of remembrance and respect, pausing from whatever they are doing for a moment of silence..."

These are a few of his beautiful words straight from his proposal...
"As Memorial Day approaches, it is time to pause and consider the true meaning of this holiday.
Memorial Day represents one day of national awareness and reverence, honoring those Americans who died
while defending our Nation and its values.
While we should honor these
heroes every day for the profound contribution they have made to securing our Nation's freedom, we should honor them especially on Memorial Day."

There are still MANY people in the world who live in suffering and fear because they are not able to enjoy the same kind of freedoms we do.

So step away from the burgers, hot dogs and games today to remember and thank these brave men and women.
THANK YOU!
