little things by Katie

So I’ve received a few really wonderful responses to our search for the “little things” in life. Each one of these responses have been unique to the beautiful person behind them and I am so grateful you’ve given me a chance to share in the treasures you’ve found. I’m excited to share the lists I have received with the rest of you…they have inspired me and I know they will inspire you too!

I want to share Katie’s “little things” list with you today.
She is the Mother of two beautiful daughters, Haley and Avery, who are just as gorgeous as their Mom. Katie is a cheerful and strong woman. Her youngest daughter, Avery, has been diagnosed with  a congenital heart defect that requires open heart surgery which will be happening this month.

Avery is only 1 year old.

As you can imagine Katie is busy preparing her family for this big and stressful event…but she made time to send me a perfect list of the little treasures she found this Sunday so I can share it with you.

I want you to hear it in her own words…

Ok, here are my "little things."
1.) Holding hands with my oldest daughter as we sat quietly in church
2.) Playfully bantering back and forth with my younger brother whom I love dearly and don't see nearly as much as I would like
3.) Coming home from seeing a movie to my mom's delicious home cooked lasagna and being able to share the meal with the best family!
4.) Laughing at my husband while he watched the Justin Bieber movie in his sweet 3D glasses.
5.) The fact that my husband is awesome enough to be the only man in the theater watching the Justin Bieber movie with his dancing and singing wife and daughter
6.) Enjoying a bowl of salty popcorn in bed
7.) Falling sound asleep knowing that my family was tucked safely in their beds.

It felt really great to put all of that into words.
Thinking all day about my "little things" made me realize that there are so many things to be thankful and grateful for.
Although I feel that this is definitely one of the hardest and most difficult times of my life, by doing this it made me realize that there is still so much to be thankful for.

You want to be her friend now, don’t you?!?! Yeah, me too!
I hope hearing a little about her story and reading her list inspires you to go search for yourself. I promise, you won’t be disappointed. It will change you.

We would love to hear what treasures you find in your life! Please share your list with us…email it to squeezingitallin@gmail.com

Tomorrow we will have thrifty tips #2 …YEAH! See you then!
