Husband and I had a talk one night about some of our greatest memories as children and all of them had to do with being together with our cousins and then we had a realization…
Most of the Husted cousins (minus 3 of the greatest ones) live close to each other right now…
Why are we not helping them create more memories while we can?
So we made a decision…
We hosted a Halloween Cousin Campout!
It was so much fun but we sorely missed our Spencer, Jacob and Lauryn!!!
All the kids came decked out in the costumes with sleeping bags and jammies in toe. We were pleased to have the company of an FBI agent even if he was quiet and WAY too serious…
Harry Potter… (said with my best British accent) Superman – just in case we got ourselves in trouble…a cowgirl - ‘cause they know how to have fun!
a knight in shining armor…
and a cheerleader to keep us all pumped up! We had a good ole’ time playing games and eating junk food…what are good Aunties for anyway?!?!Donuts on a string...
Bobbing for apples…
and more…but I stopped taking pictures – hey, it’s hard to hold a camera while simultaneously entertaining 7 children.
After games, bonfire, roasted marshmallows and junk food…we all got in our jammies and brushed our teeth and headed out to the tent. All the kids went to sleep and stayed asleep, but somehow they woke up with crazy eyes…here is the proof…
Sorry my sisters, I didn’t mean to return them any less valuable then they came…thanks for letting us kidnap them though. Uncle Doug and I sure loved having them – except for the empty whole that was Spin, Jake and Lolo. Thanks Nana and Popi for your help – it was priceless!

Looks like so much fun. You are wise and right..cousin memories are priceless and once the moments have passed to create those memories you can never get them back! Glad you are taking the time and effort for memories more valuable than gold!
Wow, I'm really sad now....
